AB  - It  is  hard  to  release  a  textbook  in  2023  without  mentioning  the  global  pandemic.  We  began  the  process  of  revising  this  book  in  early  March  of  2020  and  our  contributors  worked  on  their  chapters  during  one  of  the  most  challenging  times  for  health  care  workers  we  hope  to  ever  face.  Regardless  of  the  wave  of  the  pandemic,  we  tried  to  continue  providing  high-quality  maternity  care  and  to  work  on  sharing  this  knowledge  with  you.  Once  again,  we  are  proud  that  this  book  represents  a  tremendous  collaboration  between  obstetricians,  pediatricians,  internists,  and  anesthesiologists  at  The  Ottawa  Hospital.  New  chapters  on  medical  education  and  quality  assurance  complement  the  previous  content  that  has  all  been  refreshed  for  this  edition.  We  hope  that  Harry  Oxorn  would  continue  to  be  proud.
