AB In  vitro  fertilization  (IVF)  is  a  process  by  which  egg  cells  are  fertilized  in  vitro,  that  is,  by  sperm  outside  of  the  womb.  IVF  is  a  major  treatment  in  infertility  when  other  methods  of  assisted  reproductive  technology  have  failed.
